Max Skolnik, Ward 4 Democrat

Max Skolnik is a tireless youth advocate with nearly two decades of experience in the field.  After graduating from George Washington University with a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies, he founded Kid Power, Inc. in 2002.  Through his leadership, Kid Power has operated high-quality academic, nutritional, and service-learning programs for hundreds of young people throughout the District of Columbia.  He has fought for city-wide reforms as a board member of the DC Alliance of Youth Advocates, a coalition of over 100 organizations, youth, and concerned residents.  Further, he championed support for local schools, affordable housing, community-based development, and public safety as a two-term Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Southwest Waterfront from 2004 to 2008.  He currently resides in Petworth with his wife Erica and their one year-old son Julian.
